Spring Performance Classes

General Information

  • All classes are held at DCP, 141-B Sams Street, Decatur, GA 30030. 
  • No classes during Spring break or when City Schools of Decatur are closed. 
  • Students should bring a refillable water bottle to each class/rehearsal.
  • Students should bring a cloth or disposable mask to each class/rehearsal.
  • Performances will be in May, dates to be determined.
  • 50% deposit is due at registration, with balance paid by automatic withdrawal on March 1, 2022. For your convenience, we accept VISA®,MasterCard®, American Express®, Discover®, and debit cards.
  • EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT- 10% off tuition if purchased before Nov 15. Price adjusted when you make your selection.

Apprentice Conservatory - Grades 6-12

 Disney's Moana, Jr

Class times: Mon/Wed 6:15-7:45 starting Jan 24, or Tues/Thurs 6:15-7:45 starting January 25.

Class size limited to 20 students. We have two casts based on their rehearsal days, each cast rehearses two days per week (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs). Each cast is the ensemble/chorus for the other cast during the actual performances and will be required to attend each other’s dress rehearsals, as well as one or two other rehearsals.

Based on the 2016 Disney animated movie Moana, about the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with a goddess. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of returning the heart of Te Fiti and saving her people.

 Roald Dahl's Matilda. Jr - Grades 5-12 - 10:00 AM-12:00 PM starting January 22.

Class size limited to 25 students.

Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.

Annie Kids - Grades K-5 - 12:30-2:00 PM starting January 22

Class size limited to 25 students.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER OF LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION,
and MEDIA RELEASE FORM
(For those under 18 years old)
I understand and acknowledge that participation in any activity can be hazardous and I realize that no one should enter into a recreational activity unless the participant is physically and medically able to do so. As the participant's parent/guardian, I assume all risk associated with this activity including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants and/or equipment, effects of weather, equipment failure and/or condition of activity area. I fully understand that it is my responsibility to ascertain if this specific activity contains other elements of risk that could prove harmful to the participant.
Having read this waiver and in consideration of acceptance into the program, I and anyone entitled to act on my behalf do hereby release, hold harmless, and agree to indemnify Decatur Community Players, its directors, officers, agents, contractors, employees, and volunteers, from and against any and all damages, or claims of damage to persons or property arising out of or related in any manner to the participant's activities.
Furthermore:
1. I certify that the participant does not have any medical conditions that would prevent participation in this program.
2. In case of serious emergency or illness, when the emergency contact/parent cannot be reached immediately, I hereby authorize the provider to obtain emergency medical care.
3. Media Release: I grant permission to use the participant's name, quoted material, and any photograph/ videography of the participant for the purposes of archival documentation and present/future Decatur Community Players publicity materials including newspapers, magazines, and Internet applications without compensation or consideration.

Refunds are available through the end of the first 2 weeks of classes.
Refund requests must be received in writing (preferably e-mail).
Please note there is a non-refundable $100 administrative fee.
